For example, with the primary elections scheduled for tomorrow, the pro-development council is asking county commission candidates in metro counties for their opinions on newly planned projects. The council mailed questionnaires to each candidate but isn't expected to publicly endorse individual candidates, according to brokers who work with several of the real estate lawyers, developers, bankers and architects who comprise the group.

Michael Paris, a former Cobb County planning and zoning commissioner, is president and CEO of the Council For Quality Growth. T. Michael Tennant, a specialist in property law at Alston & Bird, chairs the 2004 council.

Other members are Buddy Patrick of the Atlanta Apartment Association, Larry Kay of the Bank of America, John Goff of Cousins Properties, David Seago of Georgia Power, Tom Evans of Great Northern Construction Co. and Bettie Sleeth of the Home Builders Association of Georgia.
