THORNTON, CO-Denver-based developer Jordon Perlmutter & Co. landed a sporting good chain, restaurants, home furnishing and cell phone stores as well as the state's largest liquor store in its Larkridge shopping center in this city along the north corridor. Perlmutter signed leases with Bed Bath & Beyond, Pier 1 Imports, Village Inn, several wireless carriers and Dick's Sporting Goods, which recently purchased Colorado's Galyan's stores.
Dick's Sporting Goods, headquartered in Pittsburgh, operates 234 stores in 33 states. The Larkridge store will be approximately 50,000 sf. Also, Perlmutter signed an agreement with Daveco Liquors to build a 102,000-sf store at Larkridge. The City of Thornton has granted a liquor license to Daveco, which will be the state's largest liquor store.
Earlier, Perlmutter inked deals with Home Depot, Circuit City, PetsMart, Good Times, Gunther Toody's, Office Max and Sears Grand, a one-stop home and family solution center. The Larkridge location, 240 acres at Interstate 25 and Highway 7, will be first Sears Grand store and is one of nine others currently planned in the US.
"Our goal with Larkridge is to offer visitors a diverse mix of national retailers and restaurants," says Jordon Perlmutter, president of his 53-year-old, namesake company. With a grand opening scheduled for October, Perlmutter is negotiating with several other national retailers and restaurants.
Perlmutter was instrumental in developing the Northglenn, Southglenn and Southwest Plaza malls, as well as more than 1.2 million sf of retail adjacent to Southwest Plaza. Most recently, the company redeveloped Northglenn Mall into the 660,000-sf Marketplace at Northglenn.
