"Our sales totals exceeded everyone's expectations and signaled strong interest among people to own a second home in Winter Park," Solo says. "We started this project with the idea of providing a quality mountain residence to people at a competitive price. That original vision has resulted in tremendous success for everyone involved, and most importantly our buyers."

The event, orchestrated by Pre-Sale Developments of Boulder and hosted by Solo, gave buyers the opportunity to select their desired town home and finalize contracts. It was preceded by three months of marketing.

"The entire process eased a person's buying decision, and gave them the time to fully understand what makes Bear Crossing such a special place," says Julia Cantarovici-Simisky, founder of Pre-Sale Developments, a company specializing in the marketing and sales of pre-construction properties in urban and mountain settings. "On the day of the sales event, our customers came in confident of their decision, which eased the formality of selecting a town home location and signing the final contracts."

Bear Crossing, which got its name after Solo spotted a mother bear and her cubs playing on the property, is on a seven-acre site, approximately one mile away from Winter Park's Main Sstreet and backing up to national forest. It will include town homes ranging from 1,950 sf to 2,600 sf.

"Winter Park and Grand County are considered a tremendous values right now, and are outselling other 'ski counties' in Colorado at a 20% clip," Cantarovici-Simisky says. "Bear Crossing is a great option for people who want to purchase a mountain home before prices possibly skyrocket in the very near future." In fact, she likes the area so much she bought one for herself.

Bear Crossing is being designed by the Breckenridge architectural firmBaker, Hogan & Honx. TCD Construction of Grand Junction is the general contractor. Of the 56 town homes planned, only eight remain. They are priced from $554,900 to $629,900.
