According to Andy Markham, vice president with locally based Grubb & Ellis/BRE Commercial LLC, the buyer plans to use the property at the southwest corner of 79th Avenue and Buckeye Road to build a distribution center. The firm, which manufactures its flexible ducts domestically and abroad, has a warehouse and distribution center at 5107 N. 51st Ave. in Glendale, which Markham says will continue to operate.
Markham says a groundbreaking date and construction budget for the proposed center aren't available as yet. "This represented good acreage with a strong frontage on Buckeye Road," he says. "Once they've built the facility, they're set for the time being."
Markham and Grubb & Ellis' Mike Hanel steered talks for ATCO. Anthony Lydon and Mark Tuice, also with Grubb & Ellis/BRE, represented the local seller, the Gilbert Co.
