"This new lease agreement is a great example of ProLogis' ability to meet the immediate needs of its customers," says Ben Bannatyne, regional director for ProLogis in Central and Eastern Europe. "Many companies in Central and Eastern Europe are implementing strategies to optimize their distribution networks and require warehousing solutions that are flexible, cost-effective and available."

ProLogis Park Uzice is located near D8 motorway and is about 5.6 miles from the city of Prague. It is connected to the major transportation routes from Prague to the Northern section of the country, as well as Germany and the Hamburg international seaport. The park is also known for its sustainable design and environmental technologies, which is ProLogis' first environmentally friendly distribution park in Central and Eastern Europe.

"Our reputation for offering best-in-class product and excellent property management services continues to attract customers across the region, and we are pleased to have leased space at our flagship Central European sustainable development, ProLogis Park Uzice," Bannatyne says.

The park has incorporated such sustainable features as high air-tightness standards, energy efficient lighting systems, rainwater collection and an on-site garden for those working at the park.

In total, ProLogis Park Uzice is made up of four structures, which contain more than one million square feet of industrial space. Rossmann, FIEGE, TRANSKAM and Wincanton Czech Republic are also leasing space in the park.

At the end of 2008, ProLogis had more than 12.1 million square feet of space throughout Central and Eastern Europe.
