MEMPHIS-United Parcel Service Inc. is seeking tax incentives in connection with its planned $80.3-million expansion at Memphis International Airport here.
The company plans to add 140,000 square feet to its existing 293.345-square-foot facility at 3675 Swinnea Road, according to the Memphis Business Journal. UPS is seeking more than $6 million in incentives from the city of Memphis and Shelby County through the Economic Development Growth Engine for Memphis & Shelby County (EDGE) agency.
EDGE stated in a release that the project is expected to create approximately $9.8 million in new tax revenue for Memphis and Shelby County. See story in the Memphis Business Journal.
