CONROE, TX-Johnson Development Corp. has completed the purchase of the Boy Scouts of America campground, Camp Strake.
The Houston-based development firm says that it will now begin to work on development plans for the 2,000-acre property. Johnson Development was selected to purchase the campground earlier this year, according to the Houston Chronicle.
The company stated in an announcement on Monday that it will identify parcels that can be developed "and the best uses for these areas amidst the heavily-wooded setting with a substantial amount of acreage dedicated as open spaces and nature preserves."
Dan Bellow and John Talhelm of Jones Lang LaSalle in Houston, along with Tom Kirschbraun, Scott Cullen and Mark Lindenbaum, represented the Sam Houston Area Council Boy Scouts of America in the sale. See story in the Houston Chronicle.
