NEWPORT NEWS, VA—Hendricks-Berkadia is opening a new office in this submarket with an eye on strengthening its foothold in the Mid-Atlantic and then nationally. The company has tapped industry veterans Alan Meetze and David Hudgins to join the firm as senior vice presidents and to lead the new office. This Hendricks-Berkadia office will complement the capital markets platform of the Berkadia Commercial Mortgage office headed by John Reed in Richmond, which has executed more than $2 billion of apartment capital placements in the region.

Hendricks-Berkadia CEO Don Hendricks highlighted Meetze's and Hudgins' expertise in the multifamily area as particularly valuable to Hendricks-Berkadia as the company works on expanding its national reach.

With 24 years in the industry under his belt, Meetze's most recent position was as a director at Drucker & Falk. He specializes in multifamily brokerage, covering class A investments, affordable housing, rehabilitation and new-asset development.

Hudgins has more than 16 years of experience in the commercial brokerage field. He previously was a director at Drucker & Falk, focused on the multifamily asset class, including class A, B and C asset disposition, and student and affordable housing.
