OAKTON, VA—The Peterson Cos. have sold the Oakton Corporate Center III office building here at 10467 White Granite Drive to ServiceSource Inc., an Arlington, VA-based non-profit for $7.3 million.
The sale price is shy of the $9.1-million assessment conducted on behalf of ServiceSource, a disability resource company, according to the Washington Business Journal. However, it is more than the $5.1-million price Peterson paid for the three-story, 65,398-square-foot building last May. Peterson did however invest in landscaping and interior upgrades after its purchase.
The sale, which was under negotiation for some time, closed on Wednesday and was the result of Jon Peterson, a principal of Peterson Cos. visiting ServiceSource's satellite center in Chantilly.
"We need a little bit more help here," Janet Samuelson, ServiceSource president, recalls telling Peterson. "And he went back, they talked about it and they came back and lowered the price another $500,000. They got to make some money, and we got to start planning our move into a building that's really going to be a model for services for people with disabilities."
