ARDMORE, PA—Dranoff Properties' plan to build a mixed-use project at a municipal parking lot on Cricket Avenue here secured the approval fro the Lower Merion Township Commission's Building and Planning Committee early Thursday morning.
In a rather contentious session, the committee approved the plan that calls for a building that would feature apartments and retail space by a 10-3 margin. The plan now goes to the full Board of Commissioners and could receive final approval at a session next week, according to The Inquirer.
The Building and Planning Committee session didn't come to a close until 1:15 a.m. Thursday morning and featured comments by critics that called the plan too large for the site, as well as supporters who said the transit-oriented development would provide a boost to downtown Ardmore by attracting young people to become residents.
