DENVER—Avison Young says leasing specialist Joe Sigdestad is joining the Denver office.
Effective immediately, Sigdestad becomes a principal of Avison Young, and he will focus on local and national tenant representation. Alec Wynne, principal and managing director of the Denver office announced Sigdestad's addition.
With 23 years of commercial real estate experience in the Denver metropolitan market, Sigdestad was most recently with Cassidy Turley, where he served as a senior vice-president.
“Joe is a highly regarded industry veteran and a perfect fit to the Avison Young Principal-led culture,” said Wynne. “During his tenure as a commercial real estate professional in Denver, he has successfully developed significant relationships in both office tenant and landlord representation. Joe's market knowledge and established track record have provided his clients with optimal leverage in the negotiation process. We look forward to Joe building upon his high-level client base and being a significant contributor to growing Avison Young's market share in Denver.”
During his career, Sigdestad has handled more than 7.4 million square feet of office transactions totaling more than $687 million in consideration. He has successfully represented and advised both local and national tenants on lease relocations, expansions and renewals, completing multiple transactions for the majority of his clients.
During his 21 years at Cassidy Turley, he was recognized as a Top 10 Producing Broker in 16 of those years. Sigdestad holds a bachelor of arts in economics from the University of Colorado. He is a member of the Denver Metropolitan Commercial Association of Realtors and the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors.
“I am extremely excited to be joining Avison Young for a variety of reasons,” Sigdestad said. “Avison Young provides an entrepreneurial, client-focused working environment led by the company's Principals, who are creative, team-oriented leaders committed to providing exceptional service to our clients. The Principal-led, collaborative focus is unique in our industry and allows all of us to have common goals and objectives.”
Avison Young opened its Denver office in December 2012 and has expanded it steadily since then. Sigdestad's hiring follows the appointments earlier this month of principal David Hurtado, project manager Kortney Pedigo and SVP Dawn McCombs in Denver.
Over the past six years, Avison Young has grown from 11 to 62 offices and from 300 to more than 1,700 real estate professionals in Canada, the US and Europe.
