IRVINE, CA—Colliers International says Mary Beth Kuzmanovich has joined the firm as national director, healthcare services. Kuzmanovich will head up national business development for Colliers and relationship management with healthcare industry clients.
“Mary Beth deepens our ability to be more strategic in delivering services to our healthcare real estate clients—both occupiers and investors,” said Craig Robinson, president, USA. “She builds upon the momentum and leadership we have had in this industry and will work closely with Colliers' Healthcare Services specialists from around the country.”
Kuzmanovich work in collaboration with Scott Nelson, president of occupier services, and Karen Whitt, president of investor services, to advance Colliers' national property management, brokerage, project management, capital markets and valuation services to the healthcare sector.
“The healthcare industry is going through tremendous transformation under the Affordable Care Act, along with unprecedented demographic and technological changes,” said Kuzmanovich. “As healthcare systems focus on their clinical and operational strategy, they are challenged with how to use and leverage real estate to be more effective. Our Colliers Healthcare team will bring its knowledge and talent to advise them on unique and innovative ways to use and deploy real estate.
“With new reimbursement rules, healthcare systems are shifting care to the lowest cost setting,” said Kuzmanovich. “This is generating greater demand for clinical space in outpatient and retail settings. These trends are already affecting real estate strategy for both the occupiers and investors in healthcare real estate,” she added.
Kuzmanovich has more than 25 years' experience in healthcare real estate strategy and operations, including her previous role serving as vice president in the facilities management group at Carolinas HealthCare System (CHS). There, she led the real estate services division, including leasing, property management, development and acquisitions. Kuzmanovich also developed extensive expertise in financial management, regulatory compliance, corporate safety and emergency management. Furthermore, she has managed the maintenance, architecture, parking, security, and linen services departments during her time with CHS.
Kuzmanovich earned her MBA and BS degrees from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. A fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, Kuzmanovich is also active in healthcare real estate professional organizations.
