Newport National Corp., doing business as Emerald Lake Corporate Centre LLC, bought the parcel for $2.25 million from California general partnershipCRC. The 4.7-acre property is located at the entrance to the research centerat Cannon Road and Faraday Avenue, which opened to traffic only last month.

Groundbreaking for the project is slated for April, with completion expectedthe following January. San Diego-based Business Real Estate Brokerage Co./NAI represented Newport National Corp. and will handleleasing. Hamann Investments represented the seller.
