The four "flex" buildings are being constructed along W. 124th Avenue. Most buildings of this type--with flexible interior finishing--use tilt-up concrete on top of its steel frame. Each building will range in size from 33,500 sf to 40,000 sf.
What sets this development apart is that Westminster is getting a softer look than is usually found in an industrial complex. General contractor Lakewood-based Pinkard Construction is using masonry block for the exterior to give it more "neighborly" look.
Chicago-based First Industrial Realty is one of the nation's largest industrial REITs, with a portfolio of more than 75 million sf.
