Site work is underway now and ground will be broken in the spring says Peter Burton, president of Burton-Katzman. The buildings will be built in two phases, with occupancy scheduled for early 2002.
His company bought the 14.4 acres of land for about $500,000 an acre. Burton says lease rates in the two new class A buildings, to be connected when they're finished for a total of about 360,000-sf, will be in the mid-$20s per-sf."With its proximity to Ann Arbor, the I-275 corridor has been very viable, especially in the technical and research fields," Burton says.
