"Advent's rapid growth provided a need for more space, which could be occupied very quickly," says Chris Perry of the Trammell Crow Co., who represented the plaza's newest tenant. He says the available space will need minimal retrofitting to be tailored to Advent's requirements. "Advent also liked the Northwest submarket because they believed it was conducive to recruiting new and talented employees in today's competitive labor market," adds Perry.

The year-old company is a developer of breakthrough technology for next-generation delivery of voice, data and video. Advent Networks has gained fiscal backing to resolve "last mile" bandwidth constraints. With its patent-pending platform, UltraBand, Advent says it will be able to deliver up to 40 mbps of dedicated bandwidth to homes and businesses. Talks are ongoing with advanced network operators and cable television companies to integrate the platform into their industries.

Great Hills Plaza, a 148,000-sf office structure, is situated at 9600 Great Hills Trail, just south of Jolleyville Road. Blue Cross/Blue Shield leads the tenant roster at the structure owned by CarrAmerica, which also controls leasing and management.
