Kimpton to Turn Historic Warehouse Into a Hotel

The red brick Haslett warehouse, which originally stored canned fruits and vegetables, was vacated in 1986 due to earthquake safety concerns. Kimpton plans to invest $37 million to convert the warehouse, including a seismic upgrade of the building. In addition to the hotel, the renovated structure will include a visitor's center and a maritime history museum.
