Craig Hopkins is the new vice president and CIO. He will be responsible for planning, implementation and control of information technology resources and will assume oversight of Crescent's ongoing business process reengineering initiative.

Hopkins will be quarterbacking "any technology issues we may face," says David Dean, senior vice president of law and administration for Crescent. Prior to joining Crescent, Hopkins had been vice president of information technology for 1st Global Inc.

Crescent also has hired Mike Silliman as leasing manager for the Dallas region. He will be in charge of leasing of The Crescent office towers, the Reverchon Plaza, 3333 Lee Parkway and Cedar Springs Plaza in Dallas. Silliman previously had been leasing director for Hines Interests LP, overseeing a portfolio ranging from 1.1 million sf to 4 million sf.

At Transamerica Real Estate Tax Service Inc., Chris Nehls has been selected to serve as COO. Nehls had joined the corporation four years ago, starting a controller for Transamerica Real Estate Information Cos. In 1997, he assumed the role of vice president of finance, serving as TREIC's CFO for three years. The Dallas-based Transamerica is the nation's oldest continuously operating tax service, focusing on the mortgage lending industry. It is a division of Transamerica Finance Corp.
