The development, once completed, will be marketed to companies seeking close proximity to housing, the train station, retail shops and the Downtown area, says Jon Moss, vice president for the Prometheus Real Estate Group.
The project is one of a handful that aims to revitalize the Downtown area. From now until spring 2002, there will be as many as in projects under some phase of construction there, adding more than 200 new residential units and more than 300,000 sf of office and retail space to the center of the city.
This latest project brings Prometheus' Mountain View portfolio to approximately 18 acres, including a $150-million mixed-use project on Castro Street that includes 111,000 sf of office space and 490 luxury apartments. The company also owns the 108-unit Heatherstone Apartments at 877 Heatherstone Way. Overall, the company holds a $2-billion portfolio, including 10,000 apartment units and one million sf of commercial, office and retail space that reaches into Oregon, Arizona and Utah.
