Construction also is underway on Silicon Valley Walk And Village Entertainment's 380,000 sf complex on Town Center Lane that will include a 20-screen movie theater and retail stores including Old Navy, Gap and Barnes & Noble.
American Mall Properties purchased the 20-year-old, 712,000 sf Sunnyvale Town Center in July 1998. It is a two-level regional shopping mall. The new construction is part of the company's facility expansion. The theater is expected to open this summer, according to sources close to the deal.
Finally, Trammell Crow Co. is building 124 apartments at Evelyn and Sunnyvale avenues, and Newport Beach-based Irvine Apartment Communities is building 300 apartments and 70,000 sf of retail space at El Camino Real and Mathilda Avenue.
