Santee Sets Limits on Rent Increases in Mobile Home Parks

The new ordinance limits rent increases to 70% of the national cost-of-living index and requires owners and residents to pay fees tofund the city's mobile home commission and legal challenges of the ordinance.

Council members adopted an ordinance requested by mobile-home-park residents prior to the 1998 election. The residents' petition sought totoughen the city's mobile home rent-control ordinance by further limiting rent increases.
