Martin Leaves First Industrial to Start Own Firm

ATLANTA-Mike Martin, regional vice president of First Industrial Realty Trust, is forming Diversified Property Group Feb. 1 to focus on industrial assets.

With FIDS for four years, Martin has participated in developing three million sf of metro area industrial, making FIDS a noticeable market player. Martin's decision to form his own firm at this time dovetails with local industry statistics showing a record net absorption of 13.9 million sf in 2000. Analysts project 15 million sf net absorption for 2001.
