The locations made available by Ward's announcing plans to declare bankruptcy are about the right size for Target stores at about 90,000 sf, according to a recent story in Women's Wear Daily.
"We do not comment on speculation," said Patty Morris, a spokeswoman for the Minneapolis-based retailer. However, she said Target is looking for expansion sites in those markets as it expands its presence in the East.
