KANSAS CITY-Upgraded police and fire stations, creation of light rail and an expanded zoo are among the issues facing city and civic leaders, says Mayor Kay Barnes at the first of several public forums.
City officials have estimated that the city's police and fire stations need about $120 million in improvements, that light rail may cost up to $700 million and the zoo could use another $50 to $100 million.
