Coordinated in conjunction with BOMA to specifically address the needs of building owners and managers, the annual event has gained a reputation as the real estate industry's telecommunications technology show among organizations such as the National Association of REITs, The Real Estate Roundtable and the World Teleport Association.

Publicly held SMED International will showcase its Workplace of the Future on February 21 at 3 p.m. during the conference and exhibition show at the Hilton San Francisco. Participants will be able to explore a full-scale, flexible office filled with high-capacity technology.

As part of the demonstration, SMED will show how a floor elevated just 2.5 inches can accommodate all necessary cabling from fixed wire and fiber optic to building security. As well, it will have on exhibit new workstation walls that have the appearance of permanence but can be reconfigured within days to accommodate a company's changing space configuration needs. Founded in 1982, SMED International focuses on interior construction for office needs.
