The 17-acre site, located along University Boulevard, is being developed by Wolff Cos. who also has sold the land to the retail giant. First Crossing is located at the intersection of Texas 6 and US Highway 90-A.
Raymond Harris and Associates of Dallas is the development designer, who has incorporated some 250 trees as a buffer around the 128,000-sf warehouse. The Sam's Club is scheduled to open in the late spring 2002. Construction had gotten under way in January. The project complements a Wal-Mart supercenter being built in Ft. Bend County and marks the 12th Sam's Club in the Houston area.
Wolff Cos., which had bought the land in 1998, says the 17-acre project will build out the First Crossing retail component. Wolff president, David S. Wolff, says marketing will now focus on office developers and restaurateurs for development of the remaining 18 acres. CB Richard Ellis broker Brendan P. Lynch has represented Sam's Club in thedeal while David Hightower and David Lane have acted on Wolff Cos.' behalf.
