Edwards also won a $14.3 million contract to build Avalon Town Center at the mixed-use Avalon community in east Orange County. The 211,000-sf center will comprise 14 townhouse buildings totaling 74 units and a four-story structure with 48 apartments on the upper three floors and ground-floor retail.
Houston, TX-based Simmons Veder Co. developed Discovery Lakes. Sentinel Real Estate Corp. of New York purchased the $4.55 million, 150,000-sf Discovery Lakes I building last year when it was 100% occupied. Simmons expects to sell Discovery Lakes II within two years after the developer has an opportunity to lease up the building, real estate industry sources familiar with the company's development strategies, tell GlobeSt.com.
