The city and the Rock Hill Economic Development Corp. are jointly funding a $150,000 study to determine the best use for the individual 125,000-sf structures. They have a four-month option to buy the properties.

One building, the former Rock Hill Cotton Factory, sits on the main Norfolk Southern Corp. rail link, connecting Charlotte to Columbia, SC. The other structure, the former Highland Park Manufacturing Plant, is a half mile from Downtown. Rock Hill is 10 miles south of Downtown Charlotte.

A price for the properties or a redevelopment cost haven't been determined, according to the article.
