Wells & Co., which is undertaking the construction on its own, is currently in the final stages of preparatory work, including the demolition of some interior walls. The primary construction still awaits issuance of a building permit, which is anticipated shortly. Completion is targeted for sometime in the spring of 2002.

Once complete, the building is to be recast as "Morgan Block," its original name when built in 1909 as a hotel. Wells is hoping the building will merit an historic designation, a classification the company has obtained for several other Spokane properties.
