Smith had been Cornerstone's president and CEO while Newman had acted as executive vice president. As Cornerstone, they had completed more than $100 million in shopping center sales just in the metroplex. Newman alone has finalized more than $50 million in transactions.
Among their credits is a five-year stint as Tandy Corp.'s tenant reps in a nationwide rollout for 120 leases in the US and Canada. The Smith-Newman team also has assisted in expansion programs for Bassett Furniture Direct, Mars Music, Office Depot, La-Z-Boy, Fleming Foods and Just for Feet. Staubach's current retail roster includes such tenants as AutoNation, Barnes & Noble, Disney Regional Entertainment, Gap, Garden Ridge, Old Navy, Pier 1 and Target.
