Dallas-based Arledge/Power Real Estate Group has added Jeffrey Pappas as vice president of transaction services. The role, says co-founder and principal Susan Arledge, mixes a vital component most often found at larger firms with a team concept for clients, particularly those with a national presence. Pappas is a former top producer at Mohr Partners in Dallas.
Along with Pappas' new position will come the addition of up to five new brokers over the course of this year, Arledge tells GlobeSt.com. But the goal isn't just to add brokers. It's to bring on board specialized, seasoned professionals. "We're really trying to put people in areas of expertise," she explains of the strategy.
The bottom line is that the structuring is an unusual move for a smaller firm, according to Arledge. The firm now consists of four vice presidents and 15 brokers and support staff. The Arledge/Power change got under way in January 2000 with the hiring of David Schrock as vice president of research and site selection. Two agency veterans, Michelle Morgan and Amy Kristofek, are now vice presidents of business development. It's all about putting a full-service team at clients' disposal from the start to the finish for each transaction. Arledge estimates that 40% of the firm's client base have nationwide real estate needs that will be better served by the structuring. Arledge/Power focuses on tenant representation for a large number of local and national real estate clients in the high-tech, telecom and teleservices industries.
Pappas also will be responsible for the development of innovative and creative transaction processes, overseeing a team of three brokers. His new role at Arledge/Power is similar to his job at Mohr, but promises to have more hands-on with the clients, says Arledge. Pappas, a 10-year veteran, has completed more than 1.5 million sf of lease transactions and has held senior-level positions at Alliance Appraisal Group and Boxer Properties.
Arledge/Power recently has been accorded the prestigious Pacesetters 2000 Award in recognition as one of the fastest-growing firms in the Dallas-area metroplex. Arledge and Van Power had founded the company in 1993.
