The first project, Gaslight Commons, will have 200 of those units on a 4.7-acre site. The second, Church Street Commons, will be comprised to two, 25-apartment buildings. Both properties will be four-story brick buildings wrapped around interior courtyards.
"There has been tremendous demand for upscale rentals in this market," according to Marchetta. "In South Orange in particular, nothing has been developed in over 10 years." Leasing is expected to begin in late summer, with occupancy slated for early next year.
