Pan Pacific Grocery Store Design Approved

Under plans unanimously approved by the commission, the Keinow and Rite Aid structures would be demolished to make was for a 56,000-sf Safeway grocery store that will be set back from Ivanhoe with its backside up against Princeton Street. A third building on property, a Blockbuster Video, would remain.

The plans call for a large pedestrian plaza at the corner of Richmond and Ivanhoe, a smaller plaza at the corner of Richmond and Princeton, and a covered bus shelter on Ivanhoe with a wide pedestrian walkway directly to the store's front door. A building permit application is expected late this year.
