The buildings at 103rd Avenue and Glisan Street will be converted to a 21,500-sf office building for employees and a 6,000-sf community center. The architectural firm Dortignacq & Associates is handling the redesign.
The new buildings are replacing the agency's overcrowded space on East Burnside Street. Irco officials plan to complete the move before August. In changing locations, it also will be changing its name to Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization.
The agency has to date raised a little more than $1 million for the project. The agency hopes to secure more than $3 million for the project. The agency's primary financing comes from government grants, but other income is derived by selling translation and interpretation services.
