Maverick Commercial is Dallas' Newest Player

The best part is Mark Aston, now president of Maverick Commercial Real Estate, has held onto Bradford's North Dallas office space. Bradford has taken its North Dallas operation back into the corporate headquarters fold at 12801 N. Central Expressway, GlobeSt.com has confirmed.

The transition had quietly occurred several months ago, but is just now making its debut in the market. Joining Aston is Mike Fay, who is Maverick's vice president and who had been a six-year marketing representative at Bradford. George Tanghongs is Maverick's marketing director after spending five years at Bradford. And Sabrina Brown, a 24-year Bradford marketing assistant and secretary, is Maverick's office manager. The team offices at 1110 E. Collins Blvd. in Richardson.

Aston tells GlobeSt.com "it was a good opportunity and I wanted to take it. It made sense for me to state my own business" The coming year will bring the hiring of probably two more brokers and Maverick's inroad into the development arena. Aston says he is eyeing two sites in North Dallas for upcoming office-tech projects that will be done with the backing of a couple investors. But, emphasizes Aston, the economy needs to pick up "before we move forward."

For now, Maverick's focus solely is the North Dallas area, but the boundaries could expand with time. For the nine years, Aston has been named Bradford's top producer. In his career, he has leased and sold more than seven million sf in 640 transactions, equating to more than $200 million in sales and lease volume. His exit deal with Bradford had been the sale of five office-tech buildings, totaling about 290,000 sf, which are owned by Richardson Technology Properties I.

Aston says he has held onto the majority of his clients in the change. Maverick is leasing and managing 25 buildings, with an aggregate 1.2 million sf, predominately in North Dallas and more specifically in the Telecom Corridor of Richardson and Plano. The firm is in the midst of final signings on three leases for a combined 21,000 sf of office-tech space for Maverick clients.
