Putnam has four facilities in this area with its headquarters here and other sites in Andover, Franklin and Norwood. While local industry experts anticipate that the mutual fund firm will close some of its facilities, Putnam spokesperson Matthew Keenan insists that this is not going to happen.

"This will not impact any of our facilities," he tells GlobeSt.com. "I am not sure what will happen to the space but there is no indication that we'll be putting space on the market."

A local source tells GlobeSt.com that he is sure Putnam will give up some space. "Those employees take up space," he points out. "I think they are going to put some space on the market." Most of the job cuts will reportedly be in the company's telephone service centers.
