"This deal is a sign that good things are still happening in the direction of telecom in 2001. Although telecom has slowed down, it is not dead. The Velocita lease demonstrates the viability of the property and will no doubt attract other carriers to Edgewood Technology Center," says Insignia/ESG's managing director Richard McBride.
Reston, VA-based Velocita Communications is a nationwide broadband networks provider serving communications carriers, Internet service providers, corporations and the government. Edgewood Technology Center consists of two buildings constructed in 1948 and 1949 as liquor warehouses that are being renovated for use as technology centers.
