A spokesperson for McCourt, whose property consists of a number of parking lots, would not confirm or deny the possibility. "The speculation is that they met," the spokesperson tells GlobeSt.com, referring to McCourt and Red Sox CEO John Harrington. "We haven't said anything about this. We're not talking about it," he says.

Harrington has been emphatic that the Sox build in the Fenway. Even if he did approve of the Sox move to the waterfront, the move would have to get neighborhood approval, which could be tricky. A number of years ago the New England Patriots tried to build a stadium in south Boston but could not get the locals to go along.
