Prices are still cheaper on the south side of the river with an average price of around £450,000 (£450 per sq ft) compared to £1.5m (£750 per sq ft) on the north bank.
Jonathon Woodfield of DTZ Residential said, 'North of the Thames may still hold its own in terms of cachet, demand and values, but I believe the centre of London is shifting slowly southwards.'
