The 35,000 sf luxury spas already are open a Wyndham Peaks Resort in Telluride, CO and Las Casitas Village in Las Croabas, Puerto Rico. The hotelier's third Golden Door is carrying a fall opening for The Boulders in Carefree, AZ. The high-end spas are designed with Asian influences and feature Koi ponds, hand-sculptured water fountains, Japanese gardens and meditation areas. Also incorporated into the luxury spa are studios for aerobics, tai-chi and spinning, eucalyptus steam room, treatment rooms, Olympic-size swimming pool, salons, 4,7000-sf fitness center and full-service health restaurant and bar.
The 1,620-room Wyndham Anatole Hotel's spa, like its counterparts, "will carefully preserve the quality and integrity of the legendary original," says Fred Kleisner, Wyndham's chairman. The Golden Door Spa has held the premier spot every year since 1988 by the Zagat US Survey and has been accorded Conde Nast's highest ranking.
