Sandra D'Arcy, Hotel Reservations, executive vice president, tells GlobeSt.com that the launch of the firm's third Texas call center "probably will carry us through the end of the year." Ticketmaster is a sister entity of Hotel Reservations.

Hotel Reservations also has call centers in northeast Dallas at Walnut Hill and Central Expressway and southwest Ft. Worth at Hulen and Vickery. The Pharr center is located at 807 S. Jackson and encompasses 14,000 sf, D'Arcy says. Hotel Reservations is launching the Pharr center with 100 employees. D'Arcy says some employees already are in place, but she is uncertain when the full complement will be on board and ready to roll.

The Pharr center is in keeping with a trend to move to second- and third-tier cities for call center operations. Real estate is cheaper and so is labor, studies have shown.
