Cendant, parent of Coldwell Banker, is the largest lodging industry franchiser and has alliances with more than 5,000 franchisees of the Ramada, Howard Johnson, Super 8, Travelodge, Days Inn, Wingate Hotels and Villager Lodge systems.

''This means a great deal to the niche we have carved in the hospitality markets,'' says Jim Nelms of Denver, who started the hospitality group for Coldwell Banker Commercial American Spectrum. ''Locally, it further connect us to an unmatched network of hotel owners, which will provide even more opportunities to those want to buy and sell property.''

As part of the national network, Nelms and Coldwell Banker Commercial's Schmidt Realty of Harbor Springs, MI, are jointly marketing a portfolio of Arlington Hospitality -- formerly AmeriHost -- owned and operated hotels. Together, they are on the market for almost $15 million.

The portfolio includes a 60-room hotel in Murray, KY listed at $3.1 million; a 60-room hotel in Jacksonville, IL for $2.975 million; a 62-room hotel for $2.7 million in Battle Creek, MI; a 64-unit, hotel in Freeport, IL listed for $3.1 million; and a 60-room hotel in Enid, OK for $3 million.
