BLECs are called in by building owners to wire multi-tenant buildings for state-of-the-art broadband services. BLECs control the "first mile," or connection from the tenants to communications network.
"Broadband is quickly becoming a cost of doing business, and office building tenants often face hurdles to fast installation, high capacity and quality service if they have to rely on traditional carriers," says New Paradigm Resources Group president Terry Barnich.
Although traditional carriers are poised to provide the same services, BLECs share revenues with building owners and usually provide an on-site technician. "BLECs are well positioned to dominate the market for multi-tenant building communications services," says New Paradigm Resources Group senior vice president Craig Clausen.
