Eastside Sports and Entertainment hopes to construct a 7,000-seat sports facility that would house soccer, semi-professional hockey plus a 2,000-seat auditorium for dramatic arts. The group wants the City of Bellevue to lease it about three acres and also provide about one third of building costs.

The group said it has spent more than $300,000 for planning, and predicts that many Eastsiders would rather attend evening events down rather than drive to Seattle. Eastside Sports and Entertainment estimates the semi-professional arena would cost $65 million, the arts center would run $60 million and $30 million would be needed for a multi-level parking garage.
