The first phase will include 40 townhouses with an average price tag of $250,000. Construction on the two and three bedroom units will start this fall with occupancy set for next summer.

Hines Corp. previously pulled out of the development as well as Post Properties. Post cited environmental issues. A third company, Mills Corp., also planned a retail development but also backed out last March.

Realty Development has committed $150 million to build 1,150 mid rise apartments and condos at Atlantic Station.

Jim Jacoby is developing the retail and entertainment component of Atlantic Station and has hired consultants and a design group for the retail elements.
