This Orlando bedroom community of 8,670 permanent residents will be getting its first Outback by year end if the chain can complete a leasing deal shortly for 6,000 sf at the boutique, three-building, 75,000-sf Florida Plaza office complex in South Lake Center at State Road 50 and Oakley Seaver Boulevard. The site is 25 miles west of Downtown Orlando.

Shopping center and restaurant officials couldn't be reached at GlobeSt.com's publication deadline to learn leasing details. But area brokers familiar with comparable retail transactions tell GlobeSt.com on condition of anonymity the estimated value of the 10-year lease is $1 million or about $15 per sf.

South Lake County's busiest corridor already is home to Crispers Fresh Salads and Such, Sonny/s Real Pit Bar-B-Q, Green Garden Chinese, Hungry Howe's and Kazbor's Grille. The new South Lake Hospital's staff and visitors are part of the growing nearby residential and professional population fueling the restaurants' growth.

The Clermont area Outback's will complement the chain's two-year-old location in Leesburg, FL, 25 miles north of Clermont.
