The office opening comes just five months after Tuxia opened its first US location, selecting Bloomfield, NJ. "It's the technology center of Texas and it's a great location for us," Mitch Cooperman, Tuxia USA's vice president of operations, tells GlobeSt.com. He says Tuxia also is scouring the Silicon Valley for another office site. Twelve employees have been brought on board for the Austin office, including 10 developers.

"The expansion of our U.S. operations in Austin is an exciting step forward in our goal to provide the smallest, fastest and most cost-efficient embedded Linux platforms for information appliances in one of our biggest markets," says Mike Finckh, managing director for Tuxia USA.

The company employs 120 people in Europe, Asia, Australia, Japan and the US. It is predicting the ranks will dramatically increase in the second half of this year.
