Barnes Wentworth, the Manhattan-based technology development and engineering firm, is bringing its Flatiron District expertise to the Jersey Shore, just signed on to develop and install the campus' tech infrastructure. BW will also advise on the "technological, financial and real estate implications of the advanced technology being installed, and provide on-site technology management to tenants after its completion," according to Jerry Richter, the developer's director of marketing.
Sitework is just underway for Garden State Hi-Tech Park, which will rise on 180 acres, divided into the East (58 acres) and West (122 acres) parcels. The first two phases will total 843,000 sf, comprised of four, four-story buildings. The developer has final site plan approval for phase one. Build-out is projected to encompass 19 buildings of from two to 12 stories, with a total gross area of four million sf.
"Our goal is to attract both high-tech and low-tech tenants," according to Richter. "So, outfitting the park to accommodate any kind of service is crucial."
