The land had been in their family for more than 80 years.

The property is adjacent to the planned Northwest Parkway tollroad that will link the northwest suburbs to the Denver International Airport. It is 1.5 miles north of the Interlocken Business Park, the largest business park in the area, and the new FlatIron Crossing Mall. It sits directly east of the Storage Technology corporate headquarters.

Dick Bourret, Murray Platt and Doug Viseur of Grubb & Ellis handled the deal.

''This deal took over two years to complete and was one of the most protracted transactions I have ever been involved with,'' Bourret says.

''Zoning issues, entitlements and particularly the planned Northwest Parkway alignment all complicated the deal.'' Bruce Etkin, principal of his namesake company, says he is pleased to add the project, he's calling the Broomfield Business Center, to his US 36 holdings.

''Over time we envision the intersection of the Northwest Parkway and 96th becoming one of the most dynamic in the Northwest submarket,'' Etkin adds.
