"Stapleton will have 10 million sf office space within a 10-minute walk to schools, retail, public transit and open space, as well as housing that is affordable to everyone from the receptionist to the chief executive officer," Lehigh adds. "We know the brokers at CB Richard Ellis will be able to convey the many benefits of relocating to this national model for smart growth."
The Stapleton team will be led by Doug Bakke, Tim Swan and Amy Andresen.
"Stapleton will become one of the most attractive places for businesses that are looking for a location where their employees can live and walk to work," Bakke says.
Forest City Enterprises, Inc. signed a purchase agreement for all of the 2,935 acres of developable land at Stapleton. The company recently received title to its first 270 acres, while simultaneously getting plans underway for office buildings in the first two Stapleton commercial centers. Build-to-suit and ground sales to users are also possible.
Construction on the Town Square Building, a five-story, 170,000-sf office building in the first town center, will begin later this year. The first occupancy in that building is expected in spring 2003.
Nearby, One Tower Center, a 12-story, 300,000-sf building, will be constructed immediately west of the existing 5,000-car parking garage that served the former air terminal. That building will offer views of Downtown Denver's skyline and the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.
Construction is anticipated to begin in 2002, with occupancy scheduled for late 2003.
